◎ Giving and receiving (1) あげる・くれる・もらう

① Giving to someone --- あげる

Ex. きのう、ともだちに 花(はな)を あげました。
　   I gave flowers to my friend yesterday.

② Someone gives to me (or you or him, etc.) --- くれる

 Ex. 田中(たなか)さんは わたしに クリスマスカードを くれました。
      Mr. Tanaka gave me a Christmas card.

③ Receiving from someone --- もらう

Ex. 母(はは)に 誕生日(たんじょうび)プレゼントを もらいました。
     I received a birthday present from my mother.

                          : さむいじゃない ⇒　さむくない  (It is not cold)

例(れい)  Examples:      

暑(あつ)いの夏(なつ) ⇒ あつい(i-adj) + なつ               a hot summer
高(たか)いの時計(とけい) ⇒ たかい(i-adj) + とけい      an expensive watch
古(ふる)いな家(うち) ⇒　ふるい(i-adj) + うち             an old house

★When an adjective is put before a noun to modify it, the 'plain-non-past' form is used as follows:
