"Te-from" of Verbs (2)

irregular-verb する (suru) to do   →  して (shi-te)
              結婚する(kekkon suru) → 結婚して (kekkon shite)
ru-verb  寝る(neru) to sleep         → 寝て(ne-te)
              考える (kangaeru) to think → 考えて(kangae-te)
      教える (oshieru)       → 教えて (oshiete)
u-verb    買う (kau)  to buy      → 買って (katte)
             読む (yomu)  to read    → 読んで (yonde)
      話す (hanasu) to talk    → 話して (hanashite)

★te-form + いるーいます (imasu)

1. indicating that the action is in progress

山田さんは 寝て います。
(Yamada-san wa nete imasu) Mr. Yamada is sleeping.


2. to tell what one does

私は 英語を 教えて います。
Watashi wa eigo o oshiete imasu. I teach English.

3. to tell the state/situation of a person/thing

姉は 結婚して います。
(Ane wa kekkon shite imasu) My elder sister is married.
